DESCRIZIONE
La cantante Asmik Grigorian ha scelto di registrare entrambe le versioni dell’ultimo capolavoro di Richard Strauss, composto nel 1948: la versione con orchestra e la versione, molto più rara, con il pianoforte. Per la Grigorian quest’opera è associata all’idea di solitudine, ma non a una solitudine infelice, piuttosto a un viaggio verso l’infinito: «Ora tutti i miei sensi desiderano affondare nel sonno. E l’anima, non custodita, desidera librarsi in libertà, così che, nel magico cerchio della notte, possa vivere profondamente e mille volte» scrive Hermann Hesse in “Beim Schlafengehen” (Andare a dormire), il terzo brano del ciclo. In questa combinazione unica, Asmik è affiancata da musicisti con cui collabora da tempo: il direttore Mikko Franck, alla guida dell’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, e il pianista Markus Hinterhauser, direttore artistico del Festival di Salisburgo. La giustapposizione delle due versioni apre a nuove emozioni: dopo la ben nota ricchezza dell’orchestrazione di Strauss, la versione per pianoforte rivela un’incredibile sensibilità.
