DESCRIZIONE
Il dramma in miniatura Actéon di Marc-Antoine Charpentier rielabora il mito del cacciatore punito da Diana per averla sorpresa mentre si bagna. L’opera fu inizialmente composta per controtenore, ma pochi mesi dopo Charpentier ne realizzò una nuova versione, affidando il ruolo principale a una voce di soprano (o “treble”).
Scritta per un organico tipico del compositore con pochi cantanti, due violini, due flauti e basso continuo, Actéon e la successiva versione Actéon changé en Biche mettono in luce la sua straordinaria capacità drammatica ed espressiva. L’ensemble Scherzi Musicali propone qui un confronto tra le due versioni, presentando per la prima volta in registrazione la seconda revisione dell’opera.
