DESCRIZIONE
In questo secondo volume di “Leggende dei Santi”, l’Orchestre Wiener Akademie, sotto la guida del direttore e organista Martin Haselböck, continua la sua esplorazione delle opere mistiche di Liszt.
Durante i frequenti periodi religiosi della sua vita, il compositore rivolse la sua attenzione alle vite di grandi martiri e santi. Queste opere, tra cui due registrazioni inedite di Jeanne d’arc au bûcher, Die heilige Caecilia e Salve Polonia
dall’oratorio “St Stanislaus”, sono eseguite dalla Wiener Akademie e da un magnifico cast vocale (Sunhae Im, Stephanie Houtzeel, Sofia Vinnik e Thomas Hampson), i cui timbri si fondono con l’organo, l’armonium, il pianoforte e l’arpa per
rivelare l’inesauribile genio di Liszt.
