DESCRIZIONE
Dopo la sua acclamata interpretazione della Settima Sinfonia di Bruckner, Iván Fischer e la sua Budapest Festival Orchestration ci offrono una nuova registrazione della monumentale ed enigmatica Nona sinfonia, incompiuta e dal carattere profondamente religioso.
I tre movimenti completati sono pervasi dall’angoscia e dalla consapevolezza della morte. Come nel Requiem incompiuto di Mozart, il primo movimento è dominato da un cupo re minore. I ritmi martellanti sembrano preannunciare Stravinsky e Bartók, mentre i grandi salti e le penetranti dissonanze anticipano la Seconda Scuola Viennese di Arnold Schoenberg, Alban Berg e Anton Webern. L’adagio è il commovente addio di Bruckner al mondo e alla vita.
