DESCRIZIONE
Franz Schubert scrisse il suo ciclo liederistico “Winterreise” nel 1828, a 31 anni, poco prima della sua morte prematura. Nel suo viaggio d’inverno, il cantante vaga come un’anima perduta in un terreno aspro, devastato da emozioni contrastanti, ma consolato dai suoi ricordi di un passato gentile. «Ogni volta che interpreto Winterreise – commenta il tenore Benamin Appl – intraprendo un viaggio nuovo, una percezione diversa che dipende dal mio umore, dell’atmosfera in sala e, naturalmente, dall’atto creativo che condivido con il pianista». Winterreise è il primo album di Appl per Alpha che, in questa registrazione, è affiancato dal collaboratore di lunga data, il pianista James Baillieu.
