Primo progetto solistico per la gambista francese Loucille Boulanger, il cui modo di suonare così naturale e commovente è elogiato universalmente. Il BBC Music Magazine l’ha definita la Jacqueline du Pré della viola da gamba.
Il programma del disco giustappone Johann Sebastian Bach e Carl Friedrich Abel, intimo amico della famiglia Bach. Anche se Johann Sebastian non scrisse mai per viola da gamba, sappiamo che trascrisse molte delle sue opere per questo strumento. La stessa Boulanger ha scelto di trascrivere tre danze dalla Sesta Suite.
