Dopo due memorabili registrazioni dedicate alla Terza e alla Quinta sinfonia di Mahler, François-Xavier Roth prosegue nel progetto di ripercorrere le principali opere eseguite in anteprima dall’Orchestra Gürzenich. Sotto i riflettori questa volta sono due dei più brillanti successi del giovane Richard Strauss: Till Eulenspiegel e Don Chisciotte. In quest’ultimo, un poema sinfonico sotto le spoglie di un doppio concerto, Jean-Guihen Queyras e Tabea Zimmermann formano un duo picaresco che narra le gesta dell’hidalgo Don Quijote e del suo fido scudiero Sancho Panza.
